I had a very good day, taken by a friend to visit the church at Longparish where there is a stained glass window in memory of Major Lanoe George Hawker, VC DSO. He is  buried at Arras.

We went on to visit Sandham Memorial Chapel where Stanley Spencer was commissioned to paint murals in memory of the forgotten dead who had no mention on a formal memorial.
